Well, here she is - my "new" River. Sadly, she hasn't passed the progress of her prototype, but giver her time - she'll come into her own.
There is a big difference between US10.5s and US7s!
And now for her closeup:
I promised Mom's Cardi as well, so here ya go!
I'm knitting it with Cascade Sierra, a Pima Cotton blend. I like the yarn, but I am a bit apprehensive about the ease. I worry that it will grow and grow and grow, and my poor mom will be drowning in a green Pima quicksand, fighting valiantly for her life. Then again, my imagination is a bit active. The sweater could be just peachy and no lives might be threatened.
This may be why I am in such a chipper mood:
My sunroom has been my haven for the past few days, and I'm thinking that I will keep this up. The regular intake of Vitamin D has done good things for the constitution. And of course, my sunbathing love keeping me company reminds me that he remains my most loyal companion. While that is true, it also sounds like a better reason for a picture of Dude - a good excuse for gratuitous pup pics!
Happy Sunday all. Smile often.

Ami told me I should read your blog, and she was so right!! Can't believe the two of you managed to frog that gorgeous knitting a few weeks ago... I get knots in my stomach just thinking about it.

Your River looks beautiful! If you frog the first version, put it in the freezer first. Calms down the molecules in the mohair and makes frogging possible!
